Internship Opportunity - Supply Chain Intern

Save the Children International MNEAEE is calling young professionals to apply for an internship with MENAEE Regional based in Amman Jordan.

The internship opportunity provides fresh graduates and young professionals with the opportunity to develop themselves in civic sector by getting to know international non-governmental organization (INGO) business environment. With this unique experience, potential talents will gain exposure to humanitarian sector which will allow them to see their potential; they will have the chance to work with and learn from experienced professionals and benefit from enhanced mentoring system and internal training programmes.

The interns will be assigned to work with Supply Chain Department , Reporting to Regional Supply chain Specialist. The Interns will be responsible for fulfilling challenging and complex tasks assigned by his/ her reporting line as per the description below Internships initial duration of 6 months, from April - Oct. ,which may be extended further on specific circumstances.

Intern responsibility

  • Handle the procurement request through working with the assigned Line Manager. this includes drafting RFP's, Competitive Bid's Analysis, Minutes of Meeting, collecting quotes, follow up with suppliers on their bid submission.
  • Handle the Procurement files this includes archiving the electronic copies in the shared drive
  • To work with the assigned line manager of updating the RO Asset register on the needed basis.
  • Tag all fixed assets with inventory code number.
  • Update inventory if item status changes, such as if the item is destroyed, stolen, moved to another location, donated, or sold in coordination with assigned line manager
  • arrange receiving of goods as per SCI standards. Notify requestor accordingly to receive goods as per right quality and quantity and in case of any issues related to quantity and quality report to assigned line manager.
  • Register Suppliers on ProSave and make sure they provide all documents needed to be registered, qualified and integrated.
  • Complying with and promoting all Save the Children Global policies such as Child Safeguarding, Whistle blowing, Fraud, and Health and Safety.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Regional Head of Supply Chain.

In order to be successful you will bring/have:

  • Logistics or Supply Chain bachelor degree or relevant degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in English & Arabic;
  • Good attention to detail and to be able to work under stress;
  • Computer literate (including working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, SAP Ariba) and competency in the development of spreadsheets and databases
  • Ability to work independently and proactively;
  • 0 - 2 years of demonstrated experience in sourcing, contracting, and assets management.

  • Cross-cultural experience, understanding, and sensitivity
  • Preferably previous INGO experience and an excellent grasp of operational issues

Position holders will be based in Amman, Jordan , therefore legal right to work in Jordan is necessary at the time of application.
