Chemonics seeks a Short-Term Knowledge Management and Communications Specialist to support the Global Health Supply Chain- Technical Assistance Francophone Task Order (GHSC-TA Francophone TO) project. The GHSC-FTO project provides technical assistance for strengthening regional, national, and sub-national health supply systems in the DRC, Benin, and Niger and supports the USAID/West Africa (USAID/WA) Regional Mission in Accra, Ghana, with project activities in Burkina Faso, Togo, and Mauritania.

The KMC Specialist/Senior Specialist reports directly to the HQ Task Order Director and works closely with project leadership and staff to support and lead the project’s communication and collaboration goals by developing various communications products, deliverables, leading coordination of meetings and webinars, and other relevant communications support highlighting project accomplishments. This assignment can be undertaken from anywhere in the U.S.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead communication and outreach initiatives and planning under the mentorship of the TO Director, working closely with PMUs, the billable team, and project office staff

  • Develop a strong understanding of the task order’s goals and strategies, and ensure they are integrated into communications and outreach activities

  • Ensure project compliance with the branding and marking requirements

  • Support the TO Director in organizing the Global Technical Meeting by leading the coordination of technical knowledge sharing (this includes working with the HO technical team on determining themes and presentations, developing the agenda following for presentation development timelines, and support during the event)

  • Lead and coordinate contract deliverables:

    • For the FY23Q3 quarterly report, work with project offices and technical teams to receive and review technical input, copy-edit all sections, write highlight sections, and develop success stories (due August 14th)
    • For the FY23 Annual Report, recruit a writer and give directions for drafting the report (Due November 11th)
    • For the final report, recruit a writer and give directions for drafting the report.
    • Coordinate responses to any USAID questions on the reports
    • Save the USAID deliverable approvals in SharePoint, upload approved deliverables to the DEC, and coordinate responses to USAID
  • Support the project with upcoming scheduled webinars to disseminate project information and lessons learned, including the Supply Chain Forum, and lead the development of at least two webinars

  • Provide HSC with social media posts in relation to upcoming events

  • Support project staff, senior technical experts, and project offices in communications efforts

  • Liaise with the Health Practice, the Supply Chain Practice, and HSC communications teams on project and corporate activities

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the TO Director

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in communications, international development, or a similar field
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent oral and written French language proficiency
  • Demonstrated experience in communications and reporting for USAID-funded projects
  • Excellent written communication and reporting skills, as demonstrated through work experience and written products, including copy-editing
  • Passion for communications and knowledge sharing
  • Creativity and a keen eye for detail
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in English both verbally and in writing
