We are currently looking for Manager to lead our Reporting and Communications Team. The Reporting and Communications Manager (RCM) will manage a team of staff to support evidence-based decision-making in the Development and Stabilization spaces.

REACH Initiative is a unique NGO, which provides research, data, and analysis to support more effective humanitarian action. By providing precise and rigorous information on the situation of crisis-affected populations in Ukraine, REACH informs better aid delivery and more transparent and reliable decision making. In Ukraine, REACH is hosted by our sister organisation, ACTED.

REACH is seeking an experienced candidate to oversee our Reporting and Communications Team. The ideal candidate will have team management experience, a good understanding of the role that data can play in shaping a humanitarian response, and should enjoy thinking through the process of telling stories with data. As this is a new role for REACH, and the team aims to centralize tasks currently held across multiple Units, the ideal candidate will also be excited by the idea of building the team strategy, and collaborating with a wide range of people from across the organization, both in Ukraine and globally. This is a senior position within a leading international NGO, which will involve management, strategic thinking, and a large amount of creativity.

The Reporting and Communications Team

The Reporting and Communications Team are responsible for ensuring that the data and analysis produced by the REACH teams in Ukraine has the greatest impact possible, via a) better presented and visual outputs, b) creative storytelling, c) clear dissemination plans, and d) and effective communication. Under the supervision of the IMPACT Deputy Country Coordinator, the RCM will manage a team of 4 staff with expertise in Translation and Design. More specifically, the RCM responsibilities will be:

  1. Staff Management: the RCM will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the team and for ensuring their staff have the information and skills to complete the work to a high standard;
  2. Communication and Dissemination Strategy Management: define and implement the dissemination and communication strategies, and engage in the dissemination of research products (including through articles, social media, targeted e-mails, presentations, meetings, workshops etc.)
  3. Reporting and Designing Outputs: support the research teams and the REACH Graphic Designer in developing impactful and relevant content and outputs, carefully considering the objective and the audience to ensure maximum impact.
  4. Translation Management: manage the REACH Translation Officers in their day-to-day work to produce outputs, questionnaires and disseminations in English, Ukrainian, and/or Russian.
  5. Monitoring and Evaluation: regularly evaluate the success of the dissemination and communications activities and implement improvements.
  6. Organisational leadership: as a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT), contribute to the leadership of the Ukraine team, in coordination with the Country Representative, Deputy Country Coordinators, and the Research Managers.

Requirements
***Academic:***Excellent academic qualifications, including a master’s degree in a relevant discipline (International Relations, Political Sciences, Social Research, Economics, Development Studies, or similar);
***Management experience:***Previous experience in a management role in relevant context, particularly within the humanitarian field. Excellent management, coordination, organisational and planning skills required, including an ability to manage large workloads, oversee multiple teams and effectively meet deadlines, through multi-tasking and prioritization;
Years of work experience: 3-4 years of relevant working experience, such as in program management, such as journalism, reporting, translation or assessments;
Familiarity with aid system: Familiarity with the aid system, and the research community;
Communication/reporting skills: Excellent communication and drafting skills for effective reporting, including proven experience in contributing to high level presentations/briefings;
Research skills: Excellent research and analytical skills preferred;
***Cross-cultural work environment:*Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility.
Language skills: Fluency in English, Ukrainian and Russian is required;
Software skills
:
Proven knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, to include Word and PowerPoint, and InDesign. Experience with StoryMap or other tools for digital storytelling strongly preferred.
